A Call for Action: Help Us Advocate for the Future of Coyote Valley

·

The Open Space Authority (OSA) is currently inviting the public to help shape the future of Coyote Valley. Because this landscape is uniquely expansive and accessible, we have a rare opportunity to advocate for the inclusion of skills-based infrastructure—providing a dedicated space for our community to grow, learn, and ride.

How to Make Your Voice Heard We are asking our mountain biking community to participate in the OSA survey before the May 17 deadline. Your feedback will help land managers understand the high demand for modern, sustainable bike facilities in the South Bay.

Points to Consider for Your Response:

  • Support for Skills-Based Infrastructure: Express a desire for bike skills parks that include pump tracks and wooden technical features to help riders build technical confidence.
  • A Focus on Progression: Highlight how the valley’s topography is ideal for beginner and intermediate trails that serve families and youth.
  • Sustainable Recreation: Share how these facilities can coexist with conservation goals, providing a structured and sustainable way for the public to enjoy the open space.

The Vision for Coyote Valley Coyote Valley’s terrain is a perfect match for beginner-friendly trail networks and bike skills parks. We envision a space that reflects the success of regional and statewide gems, creating a local hub for progression and outdoor joy. Models for this vision include:

  • Stafford Lake Bike Park (Novato, CA)
  • Truckee Bike Park (Truckee, CA)
  • Sweetwater Bike Park (Bonita, CA)
  • Haskell Canyon Bike Park (Santa Clarita, CA)
  • Flood Park Pump Track (Menlo Park, CA)
  • Gloria Jean Tate Pump Track (Marina, CA)
  • Tennyson Park Pump Track (Hayward, CA)

Thank you for taking the time to support the future of our local trails. Together, we can ensure Coyote Valley becomes a vibrant space for the entire riding community.
