Help design your local nature trail at Rancho Cañada Del Oro Open Space Preserve!

·

Earlier this year, the Santa Clara Valley Open Space Authority initiated a public engagement process to better understand community preferences for recreational use at Rancho Cañada del Oro Open Space Preserve. Following a thorough analysis of the feedback received, the Authority has developed three distinct trail design options that reflect the values, interests and priorities shared by participants.

Your input matters! Click here to fill out a survey to select your favorite trail design. SVMTB is advocating for option #3 which provides for a stacked loop design with a hiker only option to separate user groups and minimize conflict, has the most single track, and includes a longer out and back. We would like to highlight the need for trails with a range of difficulties including beginner/kid-friendly trails. With a stacked loop design, trails could be designated for specific purposes such as MTB specific trails to separate users and provide a better experience for all. This survey closes on Friday, November 21, so be sure to get your input in!
