Action Needed: Support the First New Los Gatos Trail in 30+ Years!

Midpen is deciding the future of the Beatty Property Trail Connections Project — the first new Los Gatos area trail opportunity in decades!
This new narrow trail would connect the Miller Point area of Lexington Reservoir to Priest Rock and Limekiln, just a short 2.5-mile ride from downtown Los Gatos. Very rideable from Los Gatos Creek Trail or via St. Joseph’s Hill.

👉 Please take 2 minutes to email the Midpen Board and support Option 2, which prioritizes building the trail first!

As frequent users of Sierra Azul and El Sereno open spaces, my family and I are excited to see the Beatty Property project move forward to create new trail experiences near Los Gatos.

I support Option 2, which builds the trail connection first and uses the existing Miller Point parking area, while funding wildlife passage structures where they’ll have the greatest impact.

Please also include and prioritize the short lower connector between Priest Rock and Beatty to complete the loop and the connectors from St. Joseph’s Hill— a key part of keeping trail users off Alma Bridge Road, reducing auto traffic conflict, increasing safety for people and newts, and adding joy to every ride. A win-win-win for all!

With relatively no new narrow trails open to bicycle riders coming from and around Los Gatos for over 30 years, this project has the entire local community excited about the possibilities.

Every message counts — even a one-liner helps show support for sustainable, ride-in trail access close to home.
