A huge thank-you to everyone who emailed, commented, and spoke up in support of the Beatty Trail project — this progress happened because of you. 🙌
On October 21, 2025, Midpen’s Planning & Natural Resources Committee voted 3–0 to advance Option 2 (Revised) for the Beatty Property Trail Connections Project — the trail-first plan that SVMTB and our community have been championing.
✅ What was approved:
- The Beatty Trail Connection will move ahead, linking Priest Rock to Miller Point at Lexington Reservoir — just 2½ miles from downtown Los Gatos.
- The lower Priest Rock connector is in scope, completing a safe, rideable loop and reducing traffic on Alma Bridge Road.
- The plan includes a seasonal closure for the lower Beatty segment to protect wildlife during wet months.
This is an incremental victory — and we’re proud that Midpen staff incorporated SVMTB’s community input and materials directly into their presentation.
⚒️ But the work isn’t done.
Great job, community, supporting the advancement of trails in the Los Gatos / Lexington / Beatty area — but we’re not done yet.
The proposal now advances to the full Midpen Board for final approval.
Your voices and energy will be needed again to keep this momentum moving in our favor and to ensure the trail is completed on time — by April 2028, honoring the original commitment made when the Beatty property was acquired.
Every comment, every speaker, and every show of support matters.
💪 Next step: We’ll post meeting details soon — stay tuned and be ready to speak up once more to help get this trail built.
It’s time to build — and it’s time to get it done by 2028!
